2 POEMS BY CHARLES CARPIO

REVEALED

Into the darkness
Of the closet.
Hidden truth of
Who I am.
The sad joys I
Delight in,
A taste of bitterness
And misfortune.
Half in nature,
Two in person.
Third kind of the sexes.
That damnable world!
Hell is what you are.
With your people
We suffered much,
Brutalized our dignity
And despised our rights.
The fools who condemned us
As wretched sinners,
Those who pretended as Children
Of the Great One.
Never showed greatness to our race,
Them who claimed to be
Samaritans.
May they burn in Hell.
Those devils who
Laughed at us.
Normal as they are
But their mind are not.
Men and women,
If only they knew
Our agony.
I can’t take it anymore!
No more tears,
No more sadness.
Listen to me you evil world!
You’ve gone too far this time.
I am who I am-
Human to be respected.
I will stand as I am
No more will I hide.
Let our race shout for our liberty.
Dare not to laugh at us
Or despise our right for what we are.
We are here and there’s no more
You can do about it.
Now we stand with pride.
Now we’re revealed.

LADY LUCIDA

The Dreamer of dreamers,
And the Harlot of rulers.
You crushed people
With your
Enigmatic charm.
Adorned yourself
With earthly joys
And fragrant scents
Of mendacity.
You fill the day
With your brags
And your great gloats.
As the sun sets,
You never stop.
You hide your
True color with
European mascara,
English powder,
And Italian cosmetics.
You perished
What was left from
The despised
As you walk by them
As if you never looked
At your past.
Shame on you!
How dare you demand
For respect while
You yourself don’t respect
Your true brothers and sisters?
Lady Lucida,
You don’t deserve your
Title for you
Are not one
Of the Nobles.
